We are proud to be an approved supplier to Sikorsky for the SS5213-4H6 fastener, which is used on the award-winning Sikorsky S-92® helicopter and the Sikorsky H-92 Superhawk, a military variant of the S-92.

In this edition of the AMI blog, we though we would give an introduction to these amazing helicopters, which are among the most utilized and celebrated in the world.

Sikorsky S-92

The S-92 is a twin-engine medium-lift helicopter built by Sikorsky that is currently in use by 25 world governments and by 11 heads of state, as well as in numerous civilian roles, like search and rescue and executive transport.

Known for its reliability and excellent safety profile, the S-92 comes with the following features standard: redundant control systems, bird strike protection, and Category A (Class 1) performance, which ensures safe flight in the event of an engine failure at any point in flight.

H-92 Superhawk

The H-92 Superhawk is the military variant of the S-92, and is capable of carrying 22 troops in a utility transport role.

Unlike the S-92, the Superhawk has ballistic tolerance improvements, additional armor in sensitive areas, and self-healing fuel tanks, which prevent fuel from leaking and igniting after being damaged by enemy fire.

All H-92 Superhawks also carry self-defense systems, like IR suppression and chaff/flare systems, that protect against missile attack and military-grade wiring as part of an overall upgraded military avionics.

the H-92 Superhawk will be two new GE CT7-8C engines, uprated as much as 25% from the CT7-8A engines found on the civil S-92 helicopter
